Daria Yurkevich

Daria Yurkevich is a Belarusian director, screenwriter, and producer. She graduated from the Belarusian State Academy of Arts and from Le Fresnoy (the National Studio for Contemporary Arts) in France. Her short film “Granny, Vanya, and the Goat” (2014) premiered at the Clermont Ferrand Film Festival and has been shown at around 30 international festivals all over the world.

Daria Yurkevich participated in numerous film workshops, such as ExOriente, B2Doc, and East Talent Lab, as well as film pitch competitions in Prague, Moscow, Cannes, Yerevan, Tbilisi, and Wiesbaden.

In 2018, Daria was invited to the jury of the International Festival “Listapad” in Minsk.

In 2021, she received a scholarship from the Ministry of Culture of Poland, guided by Oscar-nominated director Marcel Lozinski.

Granny, Vanya, and the Goat
In a small, typical Belarusian village, Granny Sima's only concern is for the future of her alcoholic son, Vanya. Accompanied by her best friend, a white goat called Manya, she starts a war with her neighbor, Glasha, who happens to be the village moonshine producer.
