Maksim Shved

Maksim Shved was born in 1979 in Minsk, Belarus.

After graduating from the Political Science Department of the Belarusian State University, he started a small business.

At the age of 33, he radically changed his life and began studying filmmaking. He studied in St. Petersburg and Minsk, but the breakthrough on the path of filmmaking was the completion of the documentary program at the Wajda School in Warsaw in 2016.

His debut documentary ‘Pure Art’ was screened at the 59th Krakow Film Festival, was nominated for Best Director at ArtDocFest 2019, and won several prizes at international festivals.

Developing his filmmaking career, Maksim not only directs but also produces documentaries for television and realizes medium- and full-length documentary projects.
